Welcome to CoastFIRE Finance, operated by MVN Services LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By using coastfirefinance.com, the CoastFIRE calculator, or any content on this site (collectively the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

This site is educational. Nothing here is personalized financial, legal, or tax advice. Calculator results are projections based on your inputs and assumptions — not predictions and not guarantees. Always consult a qualified professional before making real financial decisions.

1. Not financial advice

The CoastFIRE calculator, the blog posts, and all other content on this site are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute:

Personalized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice

2. Calculator assumptions and limitations

The calculator uses assumptions, including but not limited to: historical market return rates, inflation, tax rates, withdrawal rules, and Social Security projections. These assumptions may be wrong. Future returns are not guaranteed by past returns. The Monte Carlo simulation shows a distribution of plausible outcomes — not a guarantee that your actual outcome will fall within that distribution.

Specifically, the calculator:

Does not know your actual tax situation
Assumes a single withdrawal rate; real retirement withdrawals vary with conditions
Does not model sequence-of-returns risk in full detail
Does not account for health-care costs, long-term care, or unexpected expenses
Assumes Social Security benefits as currently projected; actual benefits may change with legislation
